Atom LL Team 2, 2010 - 2011 (Minto Minor Hockey Association)

Minto crew hosted Ayton on Wednesday night in Harriston only to come up short in a 4 to 2 loss to the Normanby Wildcats. Both teams were fairly evenly matched and the pace was end to end but Minto could not burry their chances and in the end it came back to haunt them.

Minto hosted Durham on Monday November 15th in the Palmerston arena and skated away with an 11 to 4 win. In the midst of a lengthy home stand the Minto crew is making the most of it by racking up their 6th win in a row while taking down Drayton 10 to 4 on Saturday the 20th in Harriston. Minto Atom LL # 2 has now run their win streak to 6 games and undefeated streak to 7 games. Minto #2 team will face off against the other Minto LL team tonight in battle of the undefeated teams.  

Minto Atom LL # 2 team extended their undefeated streak to 5 games Monday night with a 5 to 3 win over Walkerton LL # 1 team. It was a spirited affair with back and forth action and Walkerton drawing first blood in the first period, Minto tied the game up a minute and a half later on a Will Dennison goal when he tucked home a rebound off a shot from Brooke Drost. Minto finished out he first period with another goal by Nicky Aasman who was set up by Manomi Kitasawa and Will Dennison for a 2 to 1 lead. 

On Saturday Novemeber 6th Minto hosted Wallace in a spirited tilt at the Palmerston Arena. After a quick goal only 9 seconds into the game and a second goal by Wallace in the first period our gang as behind the proverbial 8 ball pretty quick! After weathering the storm from the first period Minto finally gained their legs and started to play better hockey in the 2nd.

    Minto traveled to Clifford on the first day of November and came away with an 18 to 3 win! As dramatic as that sounds full credit goes out to the Clifford team as they are an extremely young team boasting only 5 Atom aged kids and up until this game had not scored a goal yet this year. Once they got a couple great chances and scored their first goal you could see the confidence mounting as they scored 2 more, great job Clifford!
