Novice LL wins first playoff game!!
The Novice LL Minto team finished there league play last weekend in third place out of 24 teams. This puts them in a round robin playoff with the top 5 five teams. Hanover, Mildmay, Durham and Listowel. Minto will play each team twice, one home and one away game.

Minto's first game was played in Palmerston vs Hanover on Friday night (20th). Minto played a very defensive game and had difficulty getting any shots on net for most of the game. Hanover kept challenging Minto's defence but were only able to get through successfully to get there only breakaway goal in the third period with 12 minutes left of play. Minto wasn't able to create any good chances of scoring until 30 seconds left in the game. Minto battled to get the puck in Hanover's zone and around the goalie when Parker Miller picked up the puck from Peyton Noble and Ryan Helmka to put it in on a back hand shot under the goalie to tie the game 1-1. Minto hung on for the next 30 seconds to get another chance  of scoring in 10 minutes of overtime .  Minto pressured Hanover in their end again and were able to win with less then 2 minutes into overtime. Andrew Mallett was ready for the puck when it squirt out on the right corner of the net and quickly shot it in to give Minto the overtime win. Assists went to Parker Miller and Ryan Helmka. Way  to hang on to that one team!
