Novice LL win against Listowel!
On Monday, March 16th, Minto Novice LL travelled to Listowel to play another round robin playoff game.
In the 1st period, Minto looked a little sluggish and had trouble getting to the net. Listowel's aggressiveness took them by surprise. The 1st period ended in no score. Minto showed a little grit and battled in the second period getting some chances to score. Ryan Helmka was successful in getting our first goal over the goaltender's pad to make the score 1-0. Minto kept up the pace into the third period and within the first minute Leah Herrfort passed the puck up to Parker Miller giving him a breakaway chance on the Listowel goaltender. Minto now leads with a score 2-0. Listowel battled back and within 1 1/2 minutes got on the scoreboard. Minto was able to hold them at 2-1 for the rest of the game showing great defensive efforts to maintain the win. Their last playoff game will be this Wednesday, March 18th in Durham.
