Minto defeated Listowel 5-1!
On Monday January 5 at the Harriston arena, Minto's Novice LL team faced off against Listowel.The game proved to be quit a battle and the score was kept close until the third period of the game.
The first period was full of back and forth play and a few attempts from both teams. Bailey Sinclair made some great saves to keep the game scoreless. Minto was the first to get onto the scoreboard 8 minutes into the second period. Parker Miller scored from a pass from Andrew Mallett. Just 3 minutes later Ryan Helmka picked up the puck from a pass from Ryan Litt and popped it in to make the score 2-0. Listowel kept the game close when they scored with 2 minutes left in the second period. This ended up being the only goal that Listowel could get. Minto made great efforts to keep them away from the net the rest of the game. Minto continued to score in the third period. Andrew Mallett (1g), Parker Miller (2g) with an assist going to Leah Herrfort to make the final score 5-1 for Minto. Good luck on Sunday at the Novice LL tournament in Harriston!
