Pee Wee Reps Win Bill Batton Tournament
The Pee Wee Mad Dogs travelled to Exeter this past weekend to participate in the Bill Batton Tournament.  They played three games on Saturday, the first against rival Lucan at 8:00 am sharpe.   After a 2 - 2 tie against Lucan,  they met up with Ridgetown after lunch and home town South Huron Sabres for an evening matchup.

The Mad Dogs strong offensive playing style turned out to be the difference as they roared to victory over both to end the first day with 2 wins and a tie and be in first place among Pee Wee teams attending.  Up early on Sunday to head back to Exeter to meet up the North Middlesex Pee Wee's at 9:00 am.  The Mad Dogs would win 4-2, putting them in 1st place overall and into the finals against Lucan at 4:00 pm.  Their never quit attitude helped the Mad Dogs overcome giving up two goals early in the first frame to Lucan.   The Mad Dogs and Lucan traded goals in the second frame so they headed into the 3rd period down 3 - 1.   Minto continued to push the pace of the game and their shear will to compete and win puck battles against the boards in the Lucan end resulted in two goals in the last half of the 3rd period to tie the game at 3 all.  With less than 3 minutes to play in the third frame, Minto was assessed a minor penalty for hooking in front of the Minto net.  In their first game against Lucan,  a late 3rd period penalty resulted in a Lucan powerplay goal to tie the game 2-2.  This time, the result would favour Minto as Will Dennison picked up a puck off the boards from a Minto clearing attempt and was able to cut in past the Lucan Defenceman and found the bottom corner of the net to give Minto a 4-3 lead.   Lucan pulled their goalie to give them two extra skaters but Will Dennison while forechecking was able to strip the puck from the Lucan forward and sink an empty netter to give Minto a 5 - 3 win.

Congratulations on the win and to all the Mad Dogs for a terrific 5 games of Hockey.  Special recognition to the Goalies, Morgan Troyer and Drew Richardson who played outstanding only allowing the opposing teams 9 goals over the 5 games.  A big Thank you to Owen Troyer and Conner McCulloch for making two trips to Exeter on Saturday and being a big part in the Mad Dog tournament's success.

Go Mad Dogs G0 !!!
