Peewee Reps win South Huron Tournament!
The Peewee reps defeated the Lucan Irish 2-1 in a well fought game to win the 24th Annual Bill Batten Memorial Tournament in South Huron.

Friday November 9th the PeeWee Rep team headed to Huron Park to meet the North Middlesex Jr. Stars.
Despite numerous shots on net the 1st period of the game remained scoreless. This trend lasted until the last minute of the 2nd period when Brodie Hoffele lifted the puck past the Star’s goaltender. The assist went to Cody Camm.  A few minutes into the 3rd period Luke Oxford lit up the scoreboard again on an assist from Camm. The final score of the game was a 2-0 win for the Mad Dogs. Trevor Scott played a strong game in net for Minto.

Saturday November 10th the Mad Dogs travelled to Exeter to meet the Port Stanley Sailors.
From the very beginning to the final seconds of the game the Mad Dogs played a strong game. The boys utilized their strong passing skills to create numerous scoring opportunities. Scoring for Minto in the 1st period was Brett Zabel assisted by Parker Miller and Ben Lawrence and the second goal for Minto was scored by Zabel assisted by Tyson Koopman.
Going into the 2nd period with a 2-1 lead the Mad Dogs dominated the period and scored three more unanswered goals. Scoring for Minto was Zabel assisted by Parker Miller and Drew Bell, Zabel assisted by Reid Lobsinger and Luke Oxford assisted by Zabel & Lobsinger.
Minto once again controlled most of the play. Ben Lawrence fired the final goal of the game into Port Stanley’s net assisted by Tanner Loos. Mad Dogs finished the game with a 6-1 win over Port Stanley. Morgan Troyer played a great game in net for Minto. Good Game Boys!

Saturday’s second game had the Mad Dogs facing the Lucan Irish.
Seven minutes into the game Brett Zabel opened up the scoring for Minto on an assist from Parker Miller and Ben Lawrence. During the 2nd period the action remained fairly even until the last three minutes when Cody Camm banged an unassisted goal home. Zabel found the back of the net with an unassisted goal.
Heading into the 3rd period the Mad Dogs were up 3 goals. Minto stayed strong and continued to play their game. With a man in the penalty box, the Mad Dogs added two short-handed goals within a 30 second span. Parker Miller scored the first of these two goals unassisted and Brett Zabel scored the second on an assist from Miller. With four minutes left in the game, Lucan managed to sneak a goal in to make the final score 5-1 for Minto. Trevor Scott stood strong between the pipes for the Mad Dogs. Way to work Mad Dogs!!

On Sunday November 11th the Mad Dogs headed to Exeter to play the South Huron Sabres in the Semi-finals.
For the first half of the 1st period the teams seemed fairly well matched. Minto lit up the scoreboard first when Brett Zabel scored on an assist from Parker Miller. Two minutes later South Huron evened things up. Not to be out done Minto’s Brodie Hoffele fired one through the pipes on an assist from Brett Zabel. Minto kept pushing hard and Zabel found the back of the net once more on an assist from Reid Lobsinger and Logan Wanless.
Starting the 2nd period with a 3-1 lead, the Mad Dogs came out strong showing great teamwork. Reid Lobsinger fired one past the net-minder on an assist from Cody Camm. Two minutes later the Sabres managed to cut Minto’s lead to 2 goals.
Carrying their momentum into the 3rd period South Huron put another one goal up on the board making the score 4-3. Sparked into action Minto pushed hard for the remainder of the period with a minute left in the period Parker Miller slapped one past the goalie on an assist from Cody Camm & Reid Lobsinger. With 0.7 seconds left Cody Camm added the final goal of the game on an assist from Lobsinger. The final score was a 6-3 win for the Mad Dogs. Morgan Troyer added to the win by minding net for Minto. The Mad Dogs were heading to the Finals! Great job guys!!

The Gold Medal Game brought Minto and Lucan back face to face.
Both Lucan and Minto fans were kept on the edges of their seats for the entire game. These two teams played their hearts out and didn’t slow up throughout the game. Battling to a 2-1 win, the Minto PeeWee Reps were the Champs!
Scoring goals for Minto were Brett Zabel, assisted by Parker Miller.  Lucas Oxford picked up the game winner assisted by Brett Zabel. Trevor Scott played a great game in net stopping numerous Lucan shots. Congratulations to the entire team and Coaching Staff on their Championship!! Mad Dogs you had an amazing tournament! Way to go Team!!!
