On Sunday March 17th, the Delhi Rockets travelled to
Palmerston to meet the Mad Dogs for the first game of the
OMHA Finals.
During the entire game, fans were treated to a face paced game between two teams who seemed very well matched. The game remained scoreless in the 1st period. In the 2nd period Minto finally managed to put one past the Delhi goalie. Less than a minute later Delhi evened the game up with a goal of their own.
Going into the 3rd period tied up, Minto dug deep to score another goal to take a 2-1 lead. In the remaining minutes of the game the Delhi coaches pulled their goalie to give them an extra attacker. Delhi's attempt at breaking into Minto's end was fought off by a determined Minto squad. The Mad Dogs managed to send the puck back into Delhi's end, scoring an empty netter gave the Mad Dogs a final score of 3-1 over the Rockets.
Way to go Team, you played a well fought game and came out on top with a well deserved win!!
For any fans wanting to follow the PeeWee Reps, they head to Delhi on Tuesday March 19th for an 8pm game and then are back in Palmerston on Friday March 22nd for a 7:45pm game.
