PeeWee Reps Host Mitchell Meteors in Home Opener
On Monday, October 15th, Minto hosted the Mitchell Meteors at the Harriston arena in their first home regular season game.
From the drop of the puck the Mad Dogs knew this was going to be a tough game.
For almost two whole periods the fans were kept on the edge of their seats with great end to end action until Tyson Koopman ripped an unassisted goal from the top of the face off circles with under two minutes left in the second period to put Minto up 1-0.
Four minutes into the third period Reid Lobsinger scored a hard working, short handed goal with an assist going to Koopman. The intensity of the game never let up once with both teams fighting hard. Trevor Scott turned away each of Mitchell’s scoring opportunities to earn a well deserved shutout.
Despite a game riddled with penalties the Mad Dogs battled hard for the entire game, giving their fans an exciting night of hockey! Minto came out on top with a final score of 2-0.
Great work by the hard forechecking forwards and steady play by the Mad Dogs defense!
