The Atom LL 1 Team were in Hanover on November 17 for a match up against the Falcons. The new Hanover Arena is a terrific Hockey Venue complete with it’s big ice service, large seating area and spacious dressing rooms. The new facility didn’t distract their focus from the game at hand. Minto came out strong in the first period using their passing and speed to move the puck quickly and create a number of good scoring chances. When the buzzer sounded to end the first period, the Maddogs’ had built up a 5 – 0 lead. The second and third periods saw more back and forth play but the Maddogs’ speed and passing kept them a step ahead of the Falcons with the majority of the playtime being in the Falcon’s half of the ice. The Maddogs went on to score 4 goals in the second and 3 goals in the third to take the game 12-0 over the home town Falcons..
Scoring for Minto were Kaleb Irvin with 6 goals and 1 assists, Ryan Helmka notching 2 goals, Ryan Litt with 3 goals and 2 assists, Bryce Williams getting his 1st goal of the year, Noah Aitken contributing big with 4 assists and Ian Jamieson getting 1 assist. Bailey Sinclair stopped everything that came his way and was awarded with another Shutout.
