Minto Atom Reps win their first OMHA playoff game 2-1
Minto hosted the Beeton Stingers in the first game of the best of 5 series today in Palmerston.  The result was a 2-1 win.

The Beeton Stingers brought a good game to the Mad Dogs today.  The first period was scoreless but with good scoring chances made.   In the second, the Stingers goalie worked hard to keep Minto off the board but with 12:43 on the clock, Brodie Hoffele would find the back of the net on assists from Brett Zabel and Tyson Koopman.  Beeton would answer back at the 5 minute mark to even the score and end the period tied at 1-1.
In the 3rd period, both teams came out looking for the the go-ahead goal and at the 6 minute mark Brodie Hoffele would find the net again assisted by Drew Bell.
This goal would be the game winner and one of 17 shots registered on the Stingers goalie.  Trevor Scott made some key saves to keep Minto in the game.  Great job team.
Minto will travel to meet the Stingers tomorrow for game 2 of this quarterfinal match-up.  Game time is set for 12:00.
