Minto Atom Reps go up 2 games on Durham
On Jan. 28 Minto hosted Durham Huskies for the first game in a series of 5 for the WOAA.  Minto would get the win with a score of 4-3.

Durham scored early in the first and that would be the beginning of an exciting back and forth match-up.  Minto worked hard for the puck and it would pay at the 2:40 mark when Tyson Koopman would tie it up on assists from Brodie Hoffele and Brett Zabel.  Durham would get another goal 30 seconds later but Brett Zabel would fire back with the equalizer assisted by Tyson Koopman.
Tied at 2-2 going into the 2nd, Reid Lobsinger would find the net from Parker Miller to make it 3-2 and Durham would tie it up to end the period.
In the 3rd period, the battle continued with both teams having scoring chances but Reid Lobsinger would find the net again from Lucas Oxford and Parker Miller to make it 4-3.  Minto would hold the lead to take game 1!!
Great job Minto.

On the 30th, the Atoms traveled to Durham taking game 2 with a score of 2-1 in O.T.

This game was more exciting than the first.  Both teams played good and made chances to score and Ryan Litt would take advantage of a Parker Miller, Lucas Oxford pass to get Minto on the board first for a score of 1-0.  With 2 minutes left Durham would score to tie it up and end the period.
The 2nd AND 3rd period would be scoreless but not without shots on net.  Minto's Trevor Scott would have an awesome game in net and stop 17 shots in total for the game to keep Durhams goals to only one.  Congrats to Durhams goalie who stopped as many shots on the other end.  With the goalies working so hard, this game would go to overtime to decide a winner.  For 10 minutes both teams put it all out there and nervous parents would look on.  It would take a full period for the game winning goal to come, and with 4 seconds left Brett Zabel would find a loose puck and end the day for the Huskies.  Assists to Cody Camm and Logan Wanless.
Great job to both teams for another quick paced game.  Game 3 will be played in Durham on Wednesday at 8:00pm.
