Atom Reps win Minto Minor Hockey Tournament
The atom reps won the Minto Minor Hockey Tournament this past Sunday by winning three straight games.

Game 1 was against the Listowel Cyclones.  Reid Lobsinger opened the scoring midway through the first period and the Mad Dogs did not look back.  Two second period goals by Lucas Oxford secured a 3-0 lead to start the third period.  The scoring continued in the third on goals from Brett Zabel and Brodie Hoffele while Trevor Scott recorded the shutout.  Assists went to Parker Miller (4), Lucas Oxford (2), Reid Lobsinger (2), Brodie Hoffele and Drew Bell.

Game 2 was played against the West Lincoln Wrath.  The home team would once again open the scoring on a goal by Brodie Hoffele followed by two more first period goals by Lucas Oxford and Brett Zabel.  West Lincoln cut the lead to 3-1 on a goal to start the second period.  Unwilling to give up 2 points for a period loss, the Mad Dogs scored two goals with less than 17 seconds remaining in the second period on goals by Brodie Hoffele and Cody Camm.  The Mad Dogs went on two score five more in the third by Tyson Koopman (2), Lucas Oxford, Brett Zabel and Cody Camm.  The final score ended with Minto winning 10-2.  Assists went to Brodie Hoffele (4), Brett Zabel (3), Parker Miller (3), Reid Lobsinger (2) and Drew Bell.

The Championship game saw the Mad Dogs face off against the determined Mt. Forest Rams.  The Rams were able to hold Minto off the scoreboard for the entire first period.  The Mad Dogs exploded in the second period scoring eight goals from Reid Lobsinger (2), Cody Camm, Brett Zabel, Lucas Oxford, Parker Miller, Brodie Hoffele and Drew Bell while allowing Mt. Forest to score only one. The Mad Dogs ended the game by scoring five more in the third from Parker Miller (2), Tyson Koopman, Cody Camm and Brett Zabel.  The final score ended at 13-1.

The Mad Dogs once again worked very hard, played with a ‘team first’ attitude and forechecked relentlessly to win their second tournament of the year.

Congratulations Mad Dogs on another tournament win!
