Minto Atom Reps are the Regional Silver Stick "C" Finalists
Minto came home the "C" division finalist.
In game 4 the Mad Dogs took on the Durham Huskies in a high energy battle. The Minto squad took 2 full periods to break down the Durham goalie. In the 8th minute of period 3, Cody Camm got the first goal and the team didn't look back and netted goal after goal. Lucas Oxford would strike next followed by Parker Miller who put in a loose puck. Brett Zabel scored on an empty net at 1:33 and with 19 seconds left Tyson Koopman scored from the blue line to seal the deal for the 5-0 win against a quick Durham team. Shots on net were 17-12 for Minto. Trevor Scott played a great game in net and earned the shut out. The team put together great passes and created ways to find the net. In game 5, the Mad Dogs took on the Flesherton Golden Hawks, the Minto Reps struggled to make passes and put plays together....it was clear they were tired but kept working. Flesherton went up a goal early but Cody Camm answered at 5:15 to make it 1-1 after the first. Flesherton scored twice to make it 3-1 but Minto had one left by Ried Lobsinger to make it 3-2. That was all for the Mad Dogs on that day. There were lots of scoring chances with 7 penalties going to Flesherton but Minto didn't capitalize. Great effort Minto, you all worked hard for this.
