Minto advances to the semi-finals in the Silver Stick Tournament
The Minto Mad Dogs played and won 3 games this week in the Silver Stick Tournament in Wingham.

     The Minto Mad Dogs began the first game of their Silver Stick Tournament in Wingham against the TCDHMA Rebels.  The result was a 4-2 win for Minto.  The game started with both teams fighting hard for the first goal but Minto's Brett Zabel scored on assists from Parker Miller and Leah Herrfort.  Before the first period was over Brodie Hoffele scored again from Brett Zabels assist to make it 2-0 to end the frame.
     The second period saw Brett Zabel find the back of the net. on assists from Parker Miller and Brodie Hoffele.  The Rebels continued to press hard but Drew Richardson saved all shots on net and the period ended 3-0.
     The 3rd period, the Rebels poured it on and scored 2 but Brodie Hoffele added insurance on assists from Brett Zabel and Parker Miller to make it 4-2 with only 2:46 to go.  Minto would hold that score to end the game.
     Player of the game was Brett Zabel,  Drew Richardson played a strong game in net and the whole team worked hard for the win.  
The Mad Dogs face the Mildmay Monarchs on Thursday at 8:35.

     The Minto Reps met the Mildmay Monarchs in Thursdays game 2 of the Silver Stick Tournament.  This would prove to be a good game and a close win for Minto.  Mildmay got on the board quickly as they broke through the defence and scored.  Both teams worked hard and kept the pressure on, but the period would end 1-0.
     The second period Minto came out and Brodie Hoffele scored on an assist from Brett Zabel.  Both teams continued to take the puck from end to end and force turnovers but it would be Brett Zabels goal from Parker Miller and Logan Wanless that put Minto in front for a score of 2-1.  
     The 3rd period was another hard fought battle but Trevor Scott shut down attempts on net and the final score was 2-1.
Great job team!!!
     On December 11, the Minto Mad Dogs met the Seaforth Stars and came away with the decisive 6-0 win.  Drew Richardson had an excellent game and stopped all 11 shots on goal to earn the shut out.  Minto put together 20 shots on goal and netted 6.  Goal scorers were Brodie Hoffele-2 Parker Miller-2 Lucas Oxford-1 Brett Zabel-1.
     Minto advances out of the division and plays the semi-final against Durham tomorrow at 10:10 in Wingham.
