Novice Rep up 2-1 in Durham semi-final series!
On Friday, March 5th, the Novice Rep team travelled to Durham to play game #3 of the tied series with the Durham Huskies.

The game began with action at both ends with saves being made by both goaltenders. Six minutes into the 1st period, Parker Miller picked up the puck from Andrew Mallett and scored to put Minto on the scoreboard. Durham battled back and evened up the score with just under two minutes left in the first period.
Durham kept up the pace and managed to get the puck by Minto's goaltender shortly into the second period to go ahead 2-1. Minto realized that they had to play better defensively if they wanted to win this game. Minto's defense went to work and shut Durham down many times. Drew Richardson came through when his team needed him to stop the shot's that did get through. At the end of the second period, Ryan Litt scored to tie the game up but the goal was waived off on a controversial call. The whistle was blown on a delayed penelty call even though Durham never touched the puck. This call heated things up a bit for Minto and they battled Durham into the third period. With 6 minutes left in the third period, Leah Herrfort picked up the puck off of Ryan Litt's stick and quickly passed it up to Parker Miller giving him a break away to tie the game up at 2-2. The score remained for the rest of the regulation time.
In overtime Minto was playing well so things were looking favourable. At 6:22, Ryan Litt found the puck in front of the net and in a bit of a scramble put the puck in at the left side of the goaltender. Assists went to Parker Miller and Josh Gray. What an exciting game for everyone! Game #4 to be played on Monday, March 8th in Harriston at 6:30. Minto has a chance to take the series.
