Novice Rep even with Seaforth in championship series!
Minto's Novice Rep team started the final series with Seaforth on Monday, March 15th at the Seaforth arena and returning to Palmerston for game #2 on Friday, March 19th.

Game #1: Minto looked good for most of the first and second period creating many chances to score on Seaforth missing narrowly on quite a few. They were able to find the back of the net at the end of the first period when Ryan Litt battled for the puck in front of the net making an attempt on the goaltender only to save it but not able to trap it.  Parker Miller was able to find the puck and quickly put it in the net to put Minto on the scoreboard first.  Minto held Seaforth back until the end of the second period when they tied it up on a scramble in front of the net. The ref blew the whistle making no call on the play then changing the call to give Seaforth their first goal after Minto's goaltender recovered from the attack. It would seem that this controversial call would deflate the sails from Minto's team and they struggled to find the energy that they had going in to this hockey game. The third period was dismal for Minto as Seaforth capitilized on Minto's misfortune and sailed on to score four goals in the third period making the final score 5-1. Minto will have to try to leave this game behind them, regroup and find what they have and bring it on Friday for game #2.

Game #2: Once again Minto came out strong with the puck and good puck movement out of Minto's zone and putting pressure on Seaforth. Minto finally capitalized at the end of the first period when Parker Miller scored, assisted by Conner Rowley and Drew Bell. Minto consistently defended their zone and Drew Richardson made some good saves when he needed to to keep the game close. In the second period, Parker Miller scored again at the end of the period to make the game 2-0. Assists went to Andrew Mallett and Boston Will. Minto broke away in the third period and put two more on the score board. Goals by Parker Miller and Ryan Litt. Seaforth put one in from a shot from the point when it deflected off of Minto goaltender's stick with four minutes left in the game. After this, Seaforth put alot of pressure on the defence but came up empty handed leaving the score at 4-1 and Minto with their first win of the series. Game #3 will be played on Sunday, March 21st in Seaforth and Game #4 at Palmerston arena on Tuesday, March 23rd at 6 p.m.  Good Luck to all!
