Novice Rep won against Mt. Forest in exhibition play!
Back in November Minto's novice team lost an exhibition game 7-2 against a very strong Mt. Forest team. The coaches were looking for tougher games for the team to play to elevate their game. Saturday, February 6th was the return game in M.t Forest. Minto came out to play strong and as a result won 4-2!

Minto looked strong in the first period and moved the puck well. The team played postionally well from the defence up and were successful in gaining control of the puck in many opportunities. Minto did a good job at getting the puck to the net. By the end of the first period, the game was tied at 2-2. Parker Miller scored the first goal with assists going to Noah Aitken and Ryan Litt. Josh Gray scored the second goal, assisted by Conner Rowley and Ryan Helmka.
The second period saw action at both ends of the ice and Drew Richardson made some great saves to keep the score close. Minto continued to work away at getting the puck into the M.t Forest zone and with 40 seconds left in the game, Ryan Litt found a loose puck around the net and put it in to put Minto in the lead. Third goal assisted by Parker Miller and Noah Aitken.
Half way through the third period, Minto ran into some penalty trouble which caused them to have a 5 on 3 shift which could have been the end of the lead for Minto. They hung on to the lead and played defensively responsible and even got a chance to get into Mt. Forest's zone. With a minute and 40 seconds left in the game, Mt. forest drew a hooking penalty. Mt. Forest's coach decided to pull the goalie rather than make it a 5 on 4. Minto held them back well. With 47 seconds left on the clock Parker Miller gained possession of the puck and battled his way through the defense and straight to the empty net to make the final score 4-2 for Minto!
