A win and a loss for Minto Novice Rep over the weekend!
On Sunday January 25th, Minto travelled to Drayton for an evening game which turned out to be a very close game that saw Minto victorious.
Minto was first to get on the scoreboard at 8:07 in the first period. Goal scored by Ryan Litt and assisted by Boston Will and Parker Miller. Drayton tied it up with two minutes left in the first period. there were many battles back and forth without any scoring and some good saves made by both goaltenders. With 48 seconds in the second period, Parker Miller with the help of Noah Aitken and Conner Rowley were able to put Minto in the lead again. Minto kept up the pressure and secured two more goals before the end of the game to make it 4-1 looking very favourable for Minto. Goals scored by Noah Aitken and Ryan Litt. Assists go to Parker Miller, Ryan Litt and Boston Will.
Drayton did not give up their battle and managed to score two goals in three minutes to end the game with a close score of 4-3. Drew Richardson made a great save at the end of the game to keep the win for Minto.
On Monday, January 25th Seaforth came to play Minto in Harriston. They needed to avenge their earlier loss of 8-1.
Seaforth got on the scoreboard pretty quickly but Minto was able to answer back before the end of the first period. Parker Miller scored assisted by Tyson Koopman and Noah Aitken. However that would be all that Minto could generate and get by the Seaforth goaltender. Minto found themselves in defensive trouble and unable to move the puck out of Minto's zone. Drew Richardson saw many pucks and was able to keep Seaforth from scoring any more that three more goals. Final score was 4-1 for Seaforth.
