What a year
The final game was not what this team deserved or an accurate description of the fantastic and entertaing hockey these young men gave their family and friends throughout the season. Im not not going to talk about WOAA and sending b centres to omhas or questionable hometown reffing.
My thoughts on 2024-25 U18 Maddogs
Reed Power forward, team player, wants to win and pays price, good friend. playmaker, great shot
Nate All out effort every shift, bulldog on ice, strong on his skates, takes on all comers
Reid H Just goes nonstop effort nothing slows him down, fun to watch and a sniper
Ian Awesome hockey player but even better person
Lincoln solid player, solid teammate, best onetimers
Preston intlelligent, great passer, great at getting his shot on the net. great teammate. All around great player Captain
Kohen fun to watch, not fun to play against, one man wrecking crew, great hockey player
Kyler smart player right place right time, unbeleiveable heart and toughness
Alex bruiser, most improved over past three yrs. Solid d
Brayden R forward, always digging takes a lot of abuse but keeps working. big heart
Brayden R defence smooth skating always seems to come out of the corner with puck vs bigger opponents. great passer
Jake m strong two way player has all the tools. fun to watch amazing shot
Jake h strong skater, doesnt give up an inch battles for ice. never gives up
Luke great kid, wicked shot and can hit the net. Sorry E
Caden arthur kid (competitive, battles, and plays with an edge)
Trent wheels, non stop. bodies kids three times his weight, unpredictable
Ben strong solid player, good hands, smart, when he realized he could hit he was a wrecking ball
Last but not least Etienne!!!!!!!!! our goalie and on most nights our best player. Gives it is all every game and was unreal on a lot of occasions. Great kid and person will miss watching him play.
The boys played some amazing hockey and even though the boys didnt end up with red hats they never quit and should go out with their heads held high. I am very proud of them for their hockey and the way they carried themselves, how they stuck up for each other and how they left it all on the ice. Sad that it is over not just the year but minor hockey for a few of these young men. Going to miss the parents chat group and the gatherings at the arena before and after along with the getaway tournaments.
Thanks to Tyler Crawford and Mark Dolson for their time and dedication to the boys for the boys it was very much appreciated.
Thanks to the executive for all you do.
What a ride!!!!!
