Midget Rep's Win Brian English Memorial Tournament
The Midget Rep's traveled to Elmvale this past weekend to compete in the Brian English Memorial Tournament.
The boys expectations were high, wanting to complete better than they did the previous year. Minto came out strong and proved that they were there to win. In round robin action the Mad Dogs came out with 3 wins playing Listowel Cyclones (5-0), Stayner Cyclones (5-1), Midland Centennials (4-1). Sunday they headed to Semi-Finals playing the host team the Elmvale Coyotes, winning with a score of 5-0.
Finals would be against the Shelburne Huskies who the team had seen last year in the Finals at Regionals Silverstick as well in the OMHA playdowns. This was a fought out battle between both teams and both teams had all the fans on the edge of their seats. Minto came out in the end making the final score 2-1.
Congratulations to all of the players, everyone worked hard and showed us all how well they play together as a team. Congratulations to goalies Zach and Trevor who stood on their heads only letting in 3 goals the whole tournament.
