While the season is two months in and the boys are flying they have 3 wins 2 losses and 3 ties so far. A lot has occurred already and it has been an exciting start to the season. The boys have played some exciting fire wagon Hockey. Instead of recapping the games I thought I would just mention a few things that I thought has standed out so far.
Elliot M has been a goal scoring machine weaving in and out and finding the perfect spot to snipe some goals. Elliot has had one five goal game and two four goal games. Ells linemates Brody M and Jared B have worked hard to get him the puck and create traffic in front of the opposing goalies net. Jared has forechecked relentlessly and has buried his opportunities when he goes hard to the net. Brody M has worked hard to get Els the puck and has had some dangerous rushes also. Triston F has been saving the Maddogs late in games and is almost unbeatable in the breakaways he has faced this season. The defence has been solid with Kyle H playing his fearless attacking style. Duncan W has played smart headsup hockey making pinpoint passes to open Players and playing solid D. Owen W plays a smart disciplined tough defence never giving a inch. Clark C is effectively using his size speed and powerful shot to his advantage and has already sniped two goals. Keegan W has been flying this year and combing that with aggressive forechecking has been a dangerous player on the ice. Keegan has scored his first goal this yr thanks to his great skating and constantly keeping his feet moving. Nick W has used his size to open up the ice for his teammates and while he hasn't potted a goal yet this year with his shot he is always a threat on the ice. Nick likes saving his goals for tournaments and playoffs. Abe R uses his speed effectively to forecheck and force turnovers no matter the size of the opponent Abe is relentless. Jaxon R also isn't afraid to mix it up and dig for the puck even though on occasion he might be at a size and weight disadvantage. Brayden H is constantly trying out different shake and bakes and is always a threat out there. In addition Brayden has stepped up and played solid d when asked. Daniel P has worked well with his linemates and is also a player that never quits and forechecks aggressively. Hunter A who is unfortunately out and would add another solid d to our team has been a great team player coming to games even though he cant play. We will be that much more dangerous when he returns.
The team has played well and has had success when the forwards forecheck hard on the other team limiting the opposing teams chances by keeping it in their end and helping the defence when the puck is our end. As Coach Todd says GO GO GO. Todd and the rest of the coaches have the boys moving in the right direction.
