MINTO ATOM REPS WIN B-SIDE CHAMPIONSHIP IN CLIFFORD TOURNY
On November 28th the Atom rep team traveled to Clifford to take part in their first tournament of the season.
Game one was against a strong Lucknow team who squeezed one in during the first 26 seconds of the game. Minto fought back to tie the game up in the second and took the lead early in the third. Lucknow returned with a couple quick goals and the score ended 3-2. Not wanting to make it their final game for the day, Minto came out strong in game two, racking up 4 goals before Drayton managed to get on the board. With the whole team working hard they secured a 6-2 victory and a chance to play in the B-side championship game. Minto met TCDMHA in their third and final game. With end to end play and both goalies standing on their head the score remained scoreless for more than half the game. Bing, bang, boom, three goals in fifteen seconds left the opposition with their jaws dropped and the Minto fans cheering. A fourth goal in the last minute of the game and a well deserved shutout by Trevor Scott earned the Minto Atoms the B-side Championship trophy. Throughout the tournament Blair Butchart earned 8 goals and three assists, Curtis Erb scored two goals, Brodie Hoffele earned one goal and three assists, Reid Lobsinger shot one between the pipes. Earning assists were Cody Camm (2), Ben Riley (2), Tyler Quigley and Tyler Canning each with one. Congratulations on a well played tournament.
