MadDogs dominate Teeswater
The Bantam MadDogs defeated the Teeswater Otters on Friday night in Palmerston. It was a total team effort with 5 different Mad Dogs scoring.
The game started out ominously 40 seconds into the game when Teeswater scored but that seemed to wake the boys up. Despite outplaying them the rest of the period, Minto didn't score until there was 1 second left when Cole Leslie scored on a slapper outside the blueline. The 2nd period was all Minto as they scored 5 unanswered goals. Tristen Small from Josh Hoffele and Keaton Ross, Hoffele from Leigh Fisk and Brenden Aitken, Keaton Ross from Leslie, Todd Reiner from Derrick Riff and Reiner again from Greg Allen and Josh Underwood. Coach Schlueter commended the boys on a strong 2 periods of hockey but warned them against any letdowns. On that point, the team went to a 1-2-2 forecheck in the 3rd. It worked great with Teeswater hardly getting out of their end the whole period. Leslie scored his 2nd of the game to make the final 7-1. This was probably the boys best all round game of the year. Next up is Mildmay to avenge the only loss of the season on Sunday Night.
