Minto Rep share points with Durham in Semi-Final Series
The first game of the series was played in Durham on March 2. Minto found themselves having to find a faster gear if they wanted to compete in this series. Minto was scored on within the first minute of the game. Minto managed to battle enough to keep the score close. The first period ended with a score of 2-1 for Durham and then 5-3 winning score maintained by Durham at the end of the second. Minto won the third period but lost the game 6-5.
The second game was played in Harriston the next evening. This game saw back and forth action at both ends all game. Minto played a stronger, and faster game from the defense up. The first period ended in a 1-1 tie with both teams having chances and both goaltenders playing well. It looked like we were settling in for a good hockey game. Durham won the second period when they added four goals in the second. Minto was only able to add three more goals to make the score 5-4 for Durham. Minto knew they had to buckle down for the third period and work on protecting the puck and moving it along. The team played well together and managed to produce four goals in the third period to end the game ahead 8-7 with 1:12 minutes left in the game! Great effort team!
