Novice Rep WOAA-OMHA Finalists (Hodges Division)
Submitted By Kim Herrfort on Monday, March 29, 2010
During a rollercoaster series with Seaforth that saw the Minto team battle against a tough opponent as well as some questionable officiating in Seaforth, Minto went into Game #4 down 2 games to 1 and wanting to force a game #5 against Seaforth.

On March 23rd in Palmerston, Game #4 would prove to be another great battle between two equally matched teams. Minto opened the scoring when Parker Miller blew a shot past the Seaforth goalie assisted by Noah Aitken. Seaforth would come back with two unanswered goals. Just when it looked like Minto would go into the second period down a goal, Conner Rowley fed a great breakaway pass to Ryan Litt, who put a nice shot top shelf with 24 seconds left in the first period. Assists went to Conner Rowley and Parker Miller.

Seaforth would score shortly after the start of the second period and the one goal lead would stand until 16 seconds remaining in the second period. Ryan Litt fed Parker Miller with a nice pass at the blue line and Miller broke into Seaforth's end and placed a great shot behind the Seaforth goalie. With the score tied at three heading into the third period, Minto knew it was not going to be an easy 15 minutes ahead of them.

The third period would see some amazing defensive work from Minto as well as some great goaltending from Drew Richardson. Unfortunately, Seaforth would go ahead by two goals with five minutes left in the game. Minto pulled the goalie with three minutes left and created a couple of scoring opportunities, but just couldn't put one past the Seaforth tender. A great effort was provided by Minto's defence, including Leah Herrfort, Tyson Koopman, Boston Will, and Drew Bell. In the end, Minto suffered a 5-3 loss, but put forth a great fight. We are all proud of what they have accomplished this year. Great season for the Minto Novice Reps!

A huge thank-you to all the parents this season for all their help and support!
