Minto Novice Rep won 3-0 in first series playdown
Submitted By Kim Herrfort on Friday, February 26, 2010
Minto was paired up with Ripley to play the first round of the Hodges division for Novice Rep playdowns. On Saturday February 20th, Minto travelled to Ripley to start the best 3 of 5  series. Minto pulled away with a convincing win of 9-2.

Minto moved the puck well and cleared the pucks out of our own end which gave the team lots of opportunity to try out the Ripley goal tender. As a result, Minto dominated most of the game and sailed to a 9-2 win. Goals scored by Ryan Litt (2), Parker Miller (2), Noah Aitken (2), Ryan Helmka (1), Andrew Mallett(1). Assists to Noah Aitken (2), Drew Bell (2), Parker Miller (3), Ryan Litt (3), Josh Gray (1), Boson Will (1), Tyson koopman (1), Andrew Mallett (1).

Second game of the series was played in Harriston on the following Monday. Ripley came out with a new speed and challenged Minto for the first period and kept the score close for awhile. The game ended in a 6-2 win for Minto once the team gained momentum and speed to increase their chances. Goals in this game scored by Noah Aitken (3), Parker Miller (2), Conner Rowley (1). Assists to Noah Aitken (1), Parker Miller (1), Ryan Litt (3), Josh Gray (1), Ryan Helmka (1).

Minto went on to play game #3 in Ripley on  Thursday night. Ripley once again came out strong with more of an attack on the puck. Minto was a little lethargic and ran into trouble moving the puck into Ripley's zone. Minto saw many shots to the net hit goal posts and narrowly miss the corners. However, Minto's D remained strong to hold the score close and win the game 3-1 to complete the series.
Goals of this game were scored by Parker Miller (2) and Noah Aitken (1) with assists going to Ryan Litt (2), Parker Miller (1) and Noah Aitken (1).
The team moves on to the second round of the playoffs and they await to see who they play.
