Congratulations to the Atom LL 2013 WOAA White Division Champions
Game One Friday in Harriston was close until late in the game when Wingham scored two late goals winning 2-0.
Game Two was a back and forth affair that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Wingham had a 2-1 lead until approx 1 min left when Baden Holst tied the game. With Craig Aasman playing stong in net it was off to overtime.With a scrambled faceoff Nathan big game Weber stepped up and carried the puck towards the Wingham net with a two on one with Aidan Atchison with Aidan netting the winner 10 seconds into Ot. (Aidans second of the Game)
Game 3 Minto came out flying but Wingham and their goalie held fort. Eventually Aidan scored to put Minto on the Board and it looked like it might stand up but Wingham wasn't to be denied and Scored on a two on nothing.Owen Rogers had played subperb all game in net and gave his team a chance to win. It was either teams game and it seemed next goal would win and Aidan decided with help from his teammates and some good moves that it would be Minto. It was 2-1 but Wingham never gave up and it was still anyones game. Wingham pulled their goalie and pressed for the equalizer until Aidan with his third of the game into an empty net made it 3-1. And with 14 sec left the parents could finally breath. It was a great team effort and a well deserved Championship and ended appropriately with a thumbs up by coach Perry and the Team.
