Minto on the Road for Game 2
Minto travels to Walkerton for game 2.
The Mad Dogs couldn't seem to find a hole on the strong Walkerton defence for most of the game early Sunday morning. Although the Mad Dogs managed to get a few shots off Walkerton took an early 2-0 lead in the 1st period
The Mad Dogs stepped up their defence and kept fighting forward into the second period only allowing Walkerton to score one goal in the second. Although Minto continued to keep keep the shots on net going, they couldn't seem to get anything past the superb goaltending of the Capitals and were left trailing by 3 going into the 3rd.
Early into the third period Walkerton came full force and popped in 4 more goals. Minto bound and determined to not go down without a fight kept driving towards the net. With only a little over a minute left in the game forward Liberty Thalan assisted by Cassie Ward and Isaiah Steeves robbed the Capitals of their shutout game. Capitals held the victory of the Mad Dogs 7-1.
