On Their Way
First Win for the Peewee Rep Mad Dogs

Yeah
1st win of the Year
Peewees win Vs Walkerton

The Peewee rep team started the game off well pressuring the Walkerton team on the Mad Dogs first shift and continued exerting pressure throughout the first period. Owen Rogers continued his stellar play in  net and held Walkerton off the scoreboard until late in the 1st period (1:16) when Walkerton bulged the twine. Undeterred our boys kept working and Elliot continued his scoring prowess with a early second period goal aided with an assist from the always steady and cool as a cucumber Mason Lobsinger to knot the sore at 1. Unfortunately Walkerton again scored late in the second period on a pretty passing play that Owen had no chance on to give Walkerton the lead again. The game continued back and forth with some excellent fore-checking done by Clayton Martin and the rest of the forwards. The defence held steady showing off their defensive abilities and they clearly demonstrated their offensive tools as well with some very dangerous rushes from each one of them. At 2:47 of the 3rd period Connor took off chipped it by the Walkerton defenceman and  hit a speed only he knows, and then as my son Reeds says he hit bar down and we had the lead. The Mad Dogs held steady preventing Walkerton from getting going in addition to creating a few scoring chances for themselves. Walkertons Big number 6 who is very fast and mobile did his very best to tie it. With an end to end rush Big Number 6 looked like he was destined to score with the Mad Dogs  powerless to stop him. That was until Jaxon Will stepped in front of him behind the net and outmuscled him for the puck to clear it from Danger. Did I mention that their number 6 is very big. Kudos for Jaxon for battling, it is not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog. Ryan VanDonkersgood who had played a solid game fore-checking which created some very good scoring chances just missed a empty net goal by hitting the outside post late in the game. This was a very good team Win/Effort with contributions from the defence, forwards fore-checking and skating hard our centers working hard on both ends of the Ice and continued Stellar goaltending.

Special mentions to Clark who looked dangerous out there carrying the puck, Matthew for his persistent battling for the Puck, Cody who was flying and didn't have a penalty, Brody who had the top corner picked but was stoned by their goalie, Nick for keeping the puck in Walkertons Zone late in the Game, and for Hunter for playing solid two way hockey.

Now you boys know you can do it.
