On February
9th Minto travelled to Clinton for the fourth game in their OMHA
series against BCH. The Mad Dogs trailed
the series after a 2-1 loss on January 27th when they met BCH at the
Clifford Arena.
Minto hit
the ice in Clinton knowing that they needed a win tonight to keep their OMHA
play alive. Despite their strong play
and numerous drives into BCH’s end, BCH managed to light the scoreboard up
first half way into the first period.
The Mad Dogs
wouldn’t let that goal get them down.
They kept the pressure on until they notched a goal of their own with a
little less than 2 minutes left in the first period. Scoring Minto’s goal was Andrew Mallett, assisted
by Alex Mock.
Throughout period 2 & 3 there were many scoring opportunities for both teams. The play remained fast paced and fairly even for the remainder of regulation time. The 1-1 score would send the game into OT.
Both teams were very determined and played tough for the 1st four and a half minutes. Minto forced their way into the opponents end causing a scramble around the net. Kaleb Irvin slid the puck passed the BCH goalie for the 2-1 OT victory. Kaleb’s goal was assisted by Travis McLean. Each team member played with grit and determination and it paid off.
Drew Richardson played an awesome game in net for Minto.
Way to work guys! Great team effort!!
The Bantam AE Team meets BCH in Harriston on Feb 10th at 8:30pm. Come out and cheer them on.
