Bantam Reps Win Minto Minor Hockey’s Bantam Rep Tournament
Saturday January 4th brought an early start for the Bantam Rep Team.  After being eliminating in the Silver Stick semi-finals the team was driven to improve on their great play at Regional Silver Stick.  Their 1st game of the tournament put them against the Lucknow Sepoys at 8am.  The team knew they had their hands full with two prior losses to this team in regular season play.  

In the 1st period the Mad Dogs opened the scoring when Tanner Loos put one in Lucknow’s net assisted by Ryan Litt & Stephan Gingrich.  Minto struck again in the 2nd period when Ryan Litt scored assisted by Ben Riley.  Lucknow managed to put one of their own in to bring the game within 1 goal.  In the 3rd period Cody Camm found the back of Lucknow’s net assisted by Ben Lawrence.  Lucknow lit up the scoreboard again to make the score 3-2.  The Mad Dogs kept the Sepoys at bay and hung onto their 1 goal lead.  The Team played a strong aggressive game and came out victorious with a 3-2 score.  Owen Day played an incredible game in net for the Mad Dogs.
The Mad Dogs’ 2nd game pitted them against the Newcastle Stars.  Minto came out pumped and full of confidence.  From beginning to end the Mad Dogs put their skating and passing skills to work.  Minto filled the Newcastle net with 5 unanswered goals.

Trevor Scott played a strong game in net claiming the shutout.

Winning two games with high point scores the Mad Dogs advanced to the final game.  Minto lined up against the Langton Leafs for the Championship.  From the first whistle on, Minto dominated this game.  The team showed determination and grit throughout the game.  The Mad Dogs did not lose their focus once during game.  With the Championship in sight the guys dug deep and fired 9 unanswered goals into the Langton net.  The Mad Dogs were crowned tournament Champs!
