Pee Wee Reps Advance to WOAA Finals

The Pee Wee Reps continue on in OMHA playoffs after a first round bye and a second round series win over Wingham.  They will now face Blyth/Brussels in the WOAA 'C' Finals.

The first game of the series was played in Wingham on Thursday January 19th.
Wanting to prove a point, the Minto Mad Dogs came out strong. Capitalizing on more of their shots on net proved to be the winning factor. Minto put 4 strong goals by Wingham to win the game 4-2.
Goals came from Cody Camm assisted by Brodie Hoffele, then Luke Oxford with an assist going to Josh Langridge, Brodie Hoffele assisted by Logan Wanless & Reid Lobsinger assisted by Luke Oxford & Brett Zabel. Monica Rankin played a great game in net for the Mad Dogs.

Game 2 brought Wingham to Harriston to meet the Mad Dogs on Sunday January 22nd.
Both teams came out strong. Minto played a great game holding Wingham to a 4-4 tie.
Putting the puck between the pipes for Minto was Brett Zabel assisted by Luke Oxford & Reid Lobsinger, Tyler Canning with assists going to Cody Camm & Tyler Quigley, Zabel assisted by Oxford & Camm and Brodie Hoffele with assists going to Camm & Zabel. Trevor Scott made great saves in net for Minto. Great Game Mad Dogs!

Game 3 had the Mad Dogs returning to Wingham on Thursday January 26th.
A determined Minto team showed up to play in Wingham. This game would give them a substantial lead in the series. With their sights set on a win, the Mad Dogs kept the pressure on Wingham for the entire game. This determination saw the team to a 4-2 win. Monica Rankin played a strong game in net and the boys played a flawless defensive game after gaining the 4-2 lead in the third period.
Goals in this game came from Tyler Quigley, Tyler Canning and Brett Zabel (2). Assists were recorded by Canning, Avery McIsaac, Brodie Hoffele (2), Luke Oxford and Jordan Allen. Way to Go Mad Dogs!! We’re proud of the classy way you play the game!

Game 4 was played in Palmerston on Friday, January 27th.  Despite numerous chances neither team was able to hit the back of the net during the 1st period.  In the 2nd period Minto cashed in first with a goal by Brett Zabel assisted by Reid Lobsinger. Wingham answered that goal a minute later to tie things back up. Not to be out done, Minto’s Brody Hoffele put one between the pipes assisted by Reid Lobsinger to give the lead back to Minto. Minto’s Zabel gave Minto a 2 goal advantage when he scored from Hoffele & Oxford. Heading into the 3rd period with a 2 goal lead, Minto knew the battle was far from over. The Wingham squad scored two unanswered goals to send the game into overtime. The overtime period was a fast paced back and forth match putting the fans on the edge of their seats. Minto racked up a penalty well into the overtime period leaving them with 4 skaters. Wingham pulled their goalie giving them 6 attackers to Minto’s 4. With 14 seconds left in the period Hoffele launched the puck out of Minto’s end scoring an empty netter to finish the game. Trevor Scott played an amazing game in net for the Mad Dogs.
