Atom LL #2 runs into a hot Goalie!
Minto crew hosted Ayton on Wednesday night in Harriston only to come up short in a 4 to 2 loss to the Normanby Wildcats. Both teams were fairly evenly matched and the pace was end to end but Minto could not burry their chances and in the end it came back to haunt them.
Brooke Drost opened the scoring in the first period poking home a Travis Mclean shot to get the Minto crew on the score board. Normanby came back and tied the game at one at the start of the 2nd period and that's the way this period would end knotted up at one. Tyler Canning put Minto ahead 1:34 into the 3rd period on passes from Nicky Aasman and Boston Will. Two minutes later Normanby tied the game back up again, Minto pushed and pushed the pace of the game but could burry the puck behind the Normanby goalie and in the end Normanby got a fluke goal with under 40 seconds to play then salted the game away with another with only 8 seconds on the clock. Minto played well but could not finnish on their chances, the tandem of Trevor Dillon and Hunter Mcdonald played a great game for Minto. Next up Clifford on Saturday in Palmerston.
