First Win of the Season!
The Mad Dogs battled South Bruce in an exciting home game on Tuesday evening.
On Tuesday night, the offence and defence really came together for the Minto Mad Dogs as they faced South Bruce. With both teams fighting hard for the puck the Mad Dogs refused to back down and kept driving forward to the nets. Assisted with the incredible defence of Hailey Burnett the outstanding goaltending by goalie Taran Langella Mad Dogs managed keep South Bruce off the board for the entire first period. Tied 0-0 going into the second.
The Mad Dogs managed to keep the zone clear in halfway into the second period when South Bruce pushed through our defensive lines and took the lead 1-0. Isaiah Steeves assisted by Cassie Ward and Hayden McIntosh quickly answered back to tie the game 1-1 going into the third period.
Only 2 minutes into the third period McIntosh assisted by Steeves took the lead 2-1 with a beautiful top corner goal. South Bruce, unwilling to give up so easy, answered back with a breakaway goal with 4 minutes left in the third. The game became intense with both teams battling hard for the puck. With only 1 minute of play left Kaleb Walker was able to catch a rebound of the South Bruce goalie and tuck it into the back of the net to get the game willing goal. Minto took a 3-2 victory over South Bruce.
