Maddogs dominate the Wildcats !!!
Atom LL 1 faced off against the Ayton Wildcats in Ayton on Friday November 25.

This was the second meeting against the Ayton Wildcats this year and on their turf.  The first game was a close one with the Maddogs edging out Ayton 4-0 earlier in the month in Palmerston.

The Wildcats came out flying and pounched on the puck from the game’s first face off. They pushed hard to the Maddogs net and were on the scoreboard with a goal to take the lead at the 24 second mark of the first frame.  Ayton continued to push hard and their effort generated a number of good chances to add to their lead in the first period but were held off the scoreboard thanks to Zach Harrow.

The Maddogs finally found their legs in the second period.  Less than a minute into the second period,  Bradyn Brooking got Minto on the scoreboard, setup with a nice pass from Ian Jamieson.  Both teams generated some good scoring chances in the second but Minto was the only one to add a second goal.  Noah Aitken scored with 3 minutes left in the second period after being setup by DJ Campbell.  The Maddogs would lead Ayton 2 -  1 when the buzzer sounded to end the second period.

The Maddogs came out flying in the third period.  Ian Jamieson started the parade of goals at the 10 minute mark after stealing the puck from the Ayton Defenceman,  deaked out the Goaltender to give Minto a 3 – 1 Lead.  The goals kept coming for Minto,  Noah Aitken with his quick puck movement infront of the note combined with his good shot was able to find the back of the net 4 times in the third period. As well, DJ Campbell found the back of the net in the third frame to notch a goal after receiving a nice pass from Brady Brooking. Also assisting the third period goals were DJ Campbell with 2 and James Honorkiewkz.   When the buzzer went to end the game,  The Maddogs were victorious over the Wildcats  -  8 – 1 and have pushed their record to perfect 7 – 0  for the season !!!

Keep up the Good Work Maddogs !!
