Atom Rep - Minto Atom Reps advance to the semi-finals
Submitted By J Koopman on Saturday, December 10, 2011
The Atom Reps continue their run for the gold with 2 games today in Wingham.

Game 1
An early game takes its toll on everyone.  Minto is no exception.  The kids came out with guns blazing and notched 3 goals in the first period, but as the time clock ticked away, so did the energy level of the Minto squad.  Period 2 AND 3 the Mad Dogs worked in slow motion and played some defensive hockey. Shots on net were still respectable but they lacked creativity and stamina.  Flesherton was able to take advantage and come back to tie the game with 2 goals in the third period.  A 3-3 tie was the result.
Goal scorers were Parker Miller-2, and Tyson Koopman.  Assists went to Ryan Helmka, Logan Miller and Josh Gray.

Game 2
Minto met their neighbors Drayton for their last game of the round-robin play.  They haven't met this year, so we were eager to see how the teams matched up.
The Mad Dogs had to win this game to advance to the semi's and play the winner of the "c3" pool and did that with a score of 5-2.  Minto used all periods to score this game and out-shot their opponents heavily.
Goal scorers were Tyson Koopman-3, Parker Miller and Logan Miller.  Assists go to Will Dennison-3, Leah Herrfort and Logan Miller.

Minto plays Plattsville tomorrow at 10:10am.

GO MAD DOGS!!!!
